The PLANET LAB (see new contact information) has moved to Philadelphia: the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania.

We will be developing a new website soon too.

The Planet laboratory still focuses on the evolution and ecology of bacterial pathogens. By combining wet-lab molecular microbiology with computational approaches to evolutionary reconstruction, we aim to understand the fundamental principles that underlie the evolution of the host pathogen relationship. We have three specific focus areas: (1) the evolution of pathogenesis and antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus, (2) the impact of microbial ecology in children with cystic fibrosis, and (3) development of whole genome phylogenetic approaches.
